[Mon Jun 02 02:42:28 2008] You say, ‘Hail, Xanuusus’
[Mon Jun 02 02:42:28 2008] Xanuusus says ‘Greetings, small one! I am Xanuusus of the Stormreapers. You are welcome to rest beneath my mighty branches.’
[Mon Jun 02 02:42:37 2008] Xanuusus pushes the spirits into the air, making them dance around the scimitar. With a wave of his hand they melt into the blade and hilt of the weapon. ‘With this the spirits of the lands are now free from the corruption of the dark gods. Through your strength and dedication was this possible, Delonna. May the foul poison that once poured into the earth itself never do so again. Take this weapon that you may continue to watch over the balance of nature. Go now, with the gods’ blessings.’
[Mon Jun 02 02:42:37 2008] You gain party experience!!

HORRAY!….This one wasn’t as “exciting” as my cleric’s 1.0, admittedly. More or less, I had a lot of help from a close friend, Teein, to get a lot of my pieces when I was on the Vazaelle server. So, when this sword was placed in my hands it was more nostalgic than anything. Remembering Teein and I running rampant through the lands together getting corrupted spawns as we came across them. Our time spent on the Seafury cyclops island in the Ocean of Tears, camping Gornit for a few gems to line our pockets with some change. -jinglejingle-

Some memorable moments of this epic hunt:

1. Watching my friend, Swiftpawz, completely waste the froggy, Ulump Pujluk, without so much of a couple heals (that weren’t even necessary, but compulsory on my part).

2. Being Death touched by Venril Sathril as I spawned him from his remains and had to run all the way to Karnor’s Castle. It’s a good thing we had a Mage with Call of the Hero!! Haha.

3. Going all the way to North Karana for my final hand in and realizing I hadn’t turned in my stuff to Nekexin Virulence for the cleansed Essence of Kunark. Duh!

Up next!….Enchantery goodness…or so I hope…let the new headache begin!!! ;P

An Epic adventure and more

May 21st, 2008

So, I’ve been bitten by the Everquest (original) bug recently. In which I’ve spent a lot of time leveling my forlorn cleric, druid and enchanter. Oddly enough it only took me ½ a level on my wizard to totally throw my hands up and say to myself that I needed to shelve her for a bit.

See, I love my wizard. I adore her, and I never will stop playing her indefinitely but right now, I’m having trouble with things. When I first started playing again, I thought to myself, “Well it won’t be so bad, I’ll buy a few spells, a couple gear upgrades and no one will care really.”

Oh things are so nice to think about when you think nothing will go wrong. Haha…well, most people who know me, know I’m kinda sensitive. It took a couple of comments from a few people that really hit the sore spot and it made me not want to play my wizard…..for now anyway.

I figured that if I started with one of my other characters, that I could relearn the game as I climbed my way back up to the top. Possibly along the way earning a few more plat pieces, some better gear maybe and see how other people are doing things days (mostly), to help me get back in the grove of things.

While on the topic of gear. On Saturday May 17, 2008, as a late birthday gift to me, myself, and I…-grin- I was given the Water Sprinkler of Nem Ankh!

That was an awesome moment for me! I was so proud of myself. I have a lot of thanks to give my friends, my guild and some people in between. Without these folks I wouldn’t have been able to do it! Thanks so much!

I had a few snags along the way, like Natasha not spawning when I was to give in my Lord Gimblox ring, or when I was supposed to loot the singed scroll in Chardok but a couple of my group mates were kinda uhm, well, slow in the head (I’ll be nice). But all worked out in the end.

For a full raw log of my epic adventure look here: Jadey’s epic quest log

but just to recap the end of my journey:

[Sat May 17 05:45:15 2008] Omat Vastsea says ‘I see now that Zordak Ragefire and the exiled elder dragon Zordakalicus were the same being. That explains how he resisted our attempts to divine his affairs and past. Each of these orbs I have granted you represents one of the Triumvirate. Jhassad Oceanson awaits on the shore below to perform the ritual that will merge the orbs into a single Orb of the Triumvirate and summon an avatar from the Plane of Water. Present the Orb of the Triumvirate to the Avatar of Water when it arrives and allow your destiny to be unraveled.’

[Sat May 17 05:45:15 2008] You gain experience!!

[Sat May 17 05:45:53 2008] Jhassad Oceanson kneels in the sand and places the three orbs into a large abalone shell bowl. A blue glow surrounds his hands as he waves them over the orbs resting in the bowl. The orbs crack and fall apart, releasing their contents, then reform into a single glowing orb. Jhassad Oceanson gently removes the Orb of the Triumvirate and places it in Jadey’s hands. ‘The Avatar of Water approaches. You must hand him the Orb of the Triumvirate and it will be decided if it is your destiny to wield the Nem Ankh Sprinkler.’

[Sat May 17 05:45:53 2008] You gain experience!!

Let’s get things started…

Time of Discussion: 4th day of May, 2008
Topic: Enchanters
Synapsis:

I had a discussion with a friend about the state of enchanters. Things mentioned were the lack of usefullness of enchanters, the ineffectiveness of (dire) charm, the lack of need of crowd control, among other things.

Soloability: Enchanters cannot solo or at least it’s ineffective enough to bother. Mostly due to the fact that Charm (or later in levels and AA) Dire charm, is not effective as it used to be.

Charming: Charms seem to break in a short amount of time, leaving the enchanter to use precious mana to recharm or run for the zone line.

Crowd control: There’s many ways to skin a cat, and apparently many ways to single pull making mesmorization a shelved skill.

Slowing:  If you can’t find a shaman or a Beastlord, then an enchanter can fill that role, but from my understanding they aren’t as good as the others mentioned.

Beneficial spells (Buffs): Buffs have been replaced by potions, while not as good as enchanter’s buffs it’s not manditory to have an enchanter to cast beneficial spells because of this.

Usefullness: From what I can remember about enchanters (on at least a lower level scale) they don’t have great direct damage or dot spells that do much damage.

So where’s their desiribility? One has to wonder these days.

When I get a chance, I’ll be looking into these items mentioned above in a more technical aspect. Perhaps to add some evidence that these things are in fact true.

~Gaming!

May 6th, 2008

Well, here we are.

I made this journal to keep track of all my pinnacle achievements in my gaming life. I used to have a blog that I updated for EQ1 long ago, but, that got wiped out when I changed domains(two domains ago, haha).

So I hope maybe I can keep up with this. I involve myself a lot in gaming. Now, with my advanced interest in playing due to a job oppourtunity, I hope to keep track of things that I come across within these games to help people if I do actually get the job.

Feel free to add to blog rolls and pass it around. I might be shy but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to share ;).
